History of Korean cheese-making in Imsil

Cheese production in the farming region of Imsil started in 1958 after Belgian missionary Didier t'Serstevens arrived. Drawing on European methods, he began raising goats and making cheese to support the local economy and farmers. In 2004 the large theme park opened — today it preserves the legacy of Korea's first cheese and works as a cultural hub for Jeollabuk-do.
