Aerobús A1 and A2 — express to Plaça de Catalunya
Luggage racks and USB ports, unlike city bus 46. Sit on the left leaving T1 if you want Montjuïc as the first skyline cue. Buy at the stop machine or tap a card with the driver.
RENFE R2 Nord — the cheap T2 option
Faster than Aerobús if you are already in T2 and sleeping near Sants or Passeig de Gràcia. From T1 the shuttle eats the advantage — the bus is calmer with a suitcase.
Metro L9 Sud — when it is worth it
It does not run straight into the Gothic Quarter. Use L9 if you stay near Zona Universitària or Collblanc, or you already hold a Hola Barcelona card. T-casual is not valid at the airport metro stations.
Night routes and cheaper backups
NitBus N17, N18, N16
AMB night network. N18 is usually the cleaner drop to Plaça de Catalunya. They take a regular city ticket and run less often — check the stop screen on holidays.
City bus 46
The cheapest daytime ride if you skip airport metro. It ends at Plaça d’Espanya; continue on L1/L3 or walk toward Montjuïc.
Taxis and pre-booked transfers
Official black-and-yellow taxis queue at arrivals. There is no flat “centre pack”: meter plus airport supplement, roughly €39–45 from T1 in a normal hour. A pre-booked car helps late at night or in a group — do not present it as an official TMB fare.

Does the airport train leave from T1 or T2?
Rodalies R2 Nord leaves from the station beside T2. From T1 take the free inter-terminal shuttle first (10–15 minutes plus waiting). Aerobús is split: A1 from T1, A2 from T2.
Can I use a T-casual ticket to the airport?
Not at Aeroport T1 or Aeroport T2 on L9 Sud. Those stations need a special airport ticket. T-casual works on bus 46 and NitBus, but it does not replace airport metro.
What should I take after midnight?
Aerobús usually winds down around midnight. After that use NitBus N17/N18 or a taxi. Add about 40 minutes to the timetable for passport control and finding the stop.
When is a taxi cheaper than the bus?
For three or four people with bags, a taxi often beats four Aerobús tickets, especially if the hotel is not on Plaça de Catalunya. A solo traveller in daytime is almost always cheaper on the bus or train.
