The round tower at 11a Frunze Avenue sits beside the Summer Amphitheatre: archaeology and castles below, Slavianski Bazaar history higher up, overlook windows at the top. Why is it called a “kruglik”?

“Kruglik” means a round defensive tower. Today’s volume is a reconstruction of a medieval type (museum narrative often highlights a 14th-century foundation layer). For visitors it is a vertical museum: several floors in 40–60 minutes, not a fortress to storm.

Kids’ archaeology interactives appear on some days — ask at the entrance. Stairs are steep: wear sensible shoes.

Alpaca tip: during Slavianski Bazaar, the top level can show rare amphitheatre backstage angles — if the tower stays open on festival hours.
